These are great things to have when sitting at the exercise ball chair but there is more to it than just this. Because there is not a cushion that cradles your behind during the day you are constantly making minute adjustments in the way you are sitting. These adjustments are probably not even going to be noticed by you or anyone else around you. The way the ball moves with your body as you type, reach for files, read information and such during the normal routine your daily work follows the ball keeps you somewhat off kilter. This requires a little movement from you. Your leg muscles, your gluteus maximus and minimus are being used and the core muscle groups in the abdomen and at both sides are also in constant flux giving you a work out even though you do not know it.
Exercising professionals have to become familiar with all the components of fitness. As experts on fitness, they realize that the component referred to as "flexibility" generally receives less attention than the other aspects of developing a fit body. Too often, athletes fail to work on the area of flexibility until certain unwanted problems develop.
